The journey to homeownership can be rewarding, but also challenging. For some aspiring first-time homeowners, the process may be even harder to navigate. Meet Janvier and Josephina! Janvier is currently employed at Jewel Osco. Janvier started working as a bagger and has moved on to working in the warehouse. Janvier, Josephina, and their four children immigrated to Chicago from a refugee camp in Tanzania.
They always dreamed of owning their own home. Through DuPage Habitat for Humanity, the family was introduced to First Eagle Bank. Our mortgage team worked hard to make the process smooth and get the family to closing day — three days before Christmas!
First Eagle Bank provided long term, fixed rate financing and assisted the family by providing $8,000 in First Eagle and Federal Home Loan Bank grants, which were used towards down payment and closing costs.
