Credit Analyst
Summary: Facilitate the loan process for commercial lending officers on loans as assigned. Work with commercial lending officers by analyzing data and creating a detailed presentation of personal and business financial information of prospective and existing borrowers. Identify potential risks associated with individuals, businesses, and collateral that First Eagle Bank is considering financing. Accompany commercial lending officers on site visits to gather additional information. Participate in weekly loan committee meetings.
Duties and Responsibilities
Analysis of Financial Information:
- Analyze personal, business, real estate, and leasing financial statements to evaluate debt repayment capacity and creditworthiness of prospective and existing borrowers. Present this analysis in a detailed yet succinct standard written format.
- Analyze business financial projections and collateral cash flow projections while evaluating the feasibility of these forecasts. Create prudent internal financial projections separate from borrower projections.
- Perform collateral and business analysis by processing raw financial data into an Excel spreadsheet format.
- Work with loan officers on loan requests and ensure that presentations accurately assess industry risks, cash flow, collateral strength, and guarantor quality.
- Process and analyze personal credit bureau information reports and incorporate into analysis.
- Complete historical trend and debt service coverage ratio analysis.
Portfolio Administration:
- Assist lenders by completing annual Financial Statement Analysis reports on existing loans
- Create and maintain reports that track pertinent real estate industry data relative to First Eagle Bank’s loans.
Management Meetings:
- Participate in bi-weekly loan committee discussions of loan reviews and lending issues.
- Participate in business development efforts by attending quarterly marketing meetings.
- Identify and evaluate new business generation strategies and opportunities.
Other duties:
- Accompany commercial lending officers on site visits in order to gather more information on the company or collateral being analyzed.
- Identify market trends, specifically in the banking and real estate industries.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in real estate underwriting preferred
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a business or real estate related field.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of financial accounting.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
Salary Information:
This is a non-exempt position. Compensation will be based upon background and level of experience. The compensation range is $28.85-$36.06 per hour.
