First Eagle Bank and DuPage Habitat team up to help build affordable housing in Hanover Park
First Eagle Bank prides itself on establishing and maintaining long-term, all-inclusive relationships. This holds especially true for DuPage Habitat for Humanity (DPHH) whose vision is that everyone deserves a decent place to live.
First Eagle Bank / DPHH partnership began years ago when we saw an opportunity to redevelop a vacant parcel of land located behind the Bank’s Hanover Park facility into a community where people from different backgrounds and cultures can come together and call it home.
Initially, First Eagle assisted DPHH by financing the land and subsequently the land improvements for twenty-six townhome sites. To date, we have assisted four families by providing grants and 30-yr fixed rate mortgages to purchase their first home and achieve the dream of becoming homeowners. The remaining twenty-two townhomes are under construction, and we look forward to making that dream a reality for many more families.
We have also continued to work closely with these families by providing monthly financial literacy classes and other banking services to ensure they continue the path of financial prosperity.
